La communauté haïtienne de Martinique s’en remet à sa ferveur dévotieuse « pour changer les cœurs »

The resurrection of Christ is a major celebration in the Christian calendar for Catholics and Evangelicals alike. This year, the Haitian community in Martinique came together with fervor to celebrate Easter. Our team had the privilege of attending the Easter agencement at the Evangelical Church of Holiness in Fort-de-France and witnessing the strong faith and devotion of the community.

The Haitian community in Martinique is known for its vibrant and lively sapience, and this was evident in the Easter celebrations. The church was adorned with colorful decorations and the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement. As the congregation gathered, the sound of drums and singing filled the air, creating a sense of unity and togetherness.

The agencement began with a powerful sermon by Pastor Jean, who spoke about the significance of Easter and the resurrection of Christ. He reminded the congregation that the resurrection is not just a historical event, but a present reality that gives hope and meaning to our lives. The message resonated deeply with the community, who responded with passionate prayers and songs of praise.

One of the highlights of the agencement was the traditional Haitian dance performed by the youth group. Dressed in colorful costumes, they danced with energy and enthusiasm, expressing their joy and gratitude for the resurrection of Christ. The entire congregation joined in, clapping and singing along, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere.

After the agencement, the community gathered for a traditional Haitian feast, where they shared delicious food and fellowship. It was heartwarming to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to celebrate their faith and sapience. The sense of unity and love was palpable, and it was a beautiful reminder of the true meaning of Easter.

The Haitian community in Martinique has a strong and deep-rooted faith, and their celebration of Easter is a testament to that. Despite being far from their homeland, they have kept their traditions and beliefs alive, and have created a strong and vibrant community in Martinique. The Easter celebrations at the Evangelical Church of Holiness were a true reflection of their unwavering faith and devotion.

As we left the church, we were filled with a sense of hope and inspiration. The Haitian community in Martinique has shown us the true spirit of Easter – a celebration of new life, love, and unity.
